New East Manchester Regeneration

Part funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and delivered by Peel in partnership with Manchester City Council, Eastbank formed part of the New East Manchester Regeneration Zone. This flagship scheme was one of the first high end apartment schemes in the area, helping to kick start the regeneration of the now hugely fashionable Ancoats community, east of Manchester City Centre. It was delivered in phases from 2007 to 2016.

Speaking in 2010, James Whittaker said "The HCA funding has revitalised the Eastbank development, enabling the creation of over 100 jobs and given us the opportunity to show exactly how the private and public sector can work together to deliver outstanding city centre homes.

"We are building quality affordable properties at Mews and Cube that will be homes for first time buyers, downsizers, young professionals and families. It is about creating a community that will play its role in the resurgence of this part of the city and we are very pleased to be able to help deliver this part of the East Manchester vision."

Eastbank Phase 5 took 15 months to build and was completed in 2011. The development comprises 110 apartments and duplex in two contemporary designed blocks, The Cube and The Mews. The Mews comprises 75 homes including 30 town houses, plus apartments. The Cube features 33 apartments.

In the last phase, X1 delivered X1 Eastbank which was completed in 2016.
